How to attach previous lock of hookah with replacement base?
Whether you’ve upgraded your hookah base or accidentally broken the original, attaching your existing lock to a new glass base doesn’t have to be a daunting task.
With the right adhesive and technique, you can secure your lock and enjoy smooth hookah sessions in no time. Here’s what you’ll need:
Materials:-
- Your hookah lock:Â Ensure it’s clean and dry before starting.
- Glass replacement base:Â Choose one compatible with your lock mechanism.
- Adhesive: Select an adhesive suitable for bonding metal to glass, such as:
- Two-part epoxy:Â Offers strong and permanent bonding.
- UV-curing adhesive:Â Bonds quickly and securely under UV light.
- Silicone adhesive:Â Provides flexibility and heat resistance.
- Cleaning supplies: Wipes to remove any dirt or oil from the surfaces.
- Clamps or heavy objects:Â To hold the lock in place while the adhesive cures.
Instructions:-
- Clean the surfaces: Thoroughly clean both the lock’s base and the area on the glass base where you’ll attach it. Use isopropyl alcohol and lint-free wipes to remove any residue or oils that could affect the adhesive bond.
- Prepare the adhesive: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing or activating your chosen adhesive. Ensure you have enough for a generous application around the lock’s base.
- Apply the adhesive: Apply the adhesive evenly to the bottom of the lock’s base. If using a two-part epoxy, mix both parts thoroughly before applying.
- Position the lock: Carefully place the lock on the designated area on the glass base, aligning the screw holes or any other fixation points.
- Secure the lock: Use clamps or heavy objects to hold the lock firmly in place while the adhesive cures. Depending on the adhesive type, this could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
- Let it cure completely:Â Follow the manufacturer’s recommended curing time before removing the clamps or using your hookah.
